Track of the day: HEALTH – Die SlowPosted: 15/09/2009
HEALTH have just released their second album, Get Color. Get it. Any album that has a recommended decibel level designed to maximise listening enjoyment is always a good thing (90dB). This track’s the one that got me when I saw them at the Lexington. I’m a complete sucker for that stuttering synth, those drifting vocals and that unrelenting drum beat. It’s post-shoegaze greatness. The video’s pretty good as well: marching girls are always awesome, coupled with a mass of writhing bodies covered in blood. Can’t really go wrong. Noise is the future, my friends.
HEALTH play the Garage on the 26th October. Go and see them. Live, they’re a furiously lethargic experience.
